2-time NCAA Champion; 13th at 2001 World Championships; Canadian Record Holder; NCAA record holder.

During his career at Kansas, Scott Russell broke 3 Kansas records, and an NCAA record. In 2002 he was the NCAA Champion in the weight throw and the javelin. During that year he demolished the NCAA record in the weight throw with a heave of 81-1 1/4. Also in 2002, he set the hammer throw record at Kansas of 218-5. He set the school the school record in the javelin (267-11) at the 2001 World Championships. . A native of Windsor, Ontario, Canada, Scott holds the Canadian record in the javelin and was the winner of the 2004 Canadian Olympic Trials. Russell has 9 BIG XII Conference titles. He won the javelin in 1998, 2000 and 2002; the hammer throw in 1999, 2000, and 2002; and the weight throw in 1999, 2001, and 2002.
