Ross had a banner 2004 season, highlighted by qualifying for the 2004 U.S. Olympic team with his runner-up finish at the Olympic Trials in Sacramento. Ross earned his degree in financial investments and is considering retiring from track after the 2001 season to pursue a career in development…married his wife Kris in 2000, he has three daughters, Rachel and Ashley (twins born in 1991) Jonah (born in 2002): and son, Duane Jr. (born in 2001) "I see them all the time. And they love it when they see their daddy run on TV.” He says his own training has been focused on improving his technique, and he has spent many sessions reviewing the videotape of the 1998 USA Champs final in New Orleans, a race he did not finish: "I fell while I was in the lead.” Ross enjoyed a comeback in 2002, ending the campaign ranked in the top ten in the world (#8) for the second time in his career (#6 in 1999)…his 2002 U.S. ranking (#4) equals the best of his career (1999)…Ross is President and CEO of Ross Winston Financial Group…his wife Kris is the sister of 2004 Olympic Trials 100m champion LaTasha Colander.
