Tim Weiser After serving as Colorado State University's athletic director for three years, Weiser was beginning to settle down in Fort Collins, Colo. Then Max Urick retired as K-State's athletic director. Weiser was hired as Urick's replacement on July 1, 2001.

Weiser had been part of the Wichita State program until 1988. While serving as assistant athletic director at Wichita State, Weiser watched his Shocker football team travel to Manhattan on Sept. 7, 1986 -- and beat the Cats 16-10 at Wagner Field. K-State would finish 1-10 that season, a far cry from the team's 11-3 mark in 2001.

Before Wichita State, Weiser was athletics director at Austin Peay (1988-93), Eastern Michigan (1993-97) and Colorado State (1997-2000). While at Colorado State, Weiser oversaw the Rams turning their program around, defeating state-rival Colorado in three of four meetings.

Weiser, 44, has made significant positive changes on the K-State athletic landscape in his three years in Manhattan. He's overseen the complection of construction on K-State's new baseball fields and renovations to the track and field program's home facility.

Weiser received the General Robert Neyland Outstanding Athletics Director Award from the All-America Football Foundation.

Weiser worked for five years at Wichita State, serving in various roles between February 1983 through July 1988. He directed compliance activities and supervised the academic support uni before moving into a role in the development office. He was involved in generating money for the imporvement of the Wichita State baseball facility. Weiser spent his last year at Wichita State as the associate athletics director, being responsible for day-to-day operations of Shockers' programs.

Weiser holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's in counseling, both from Emporia State University, which he attended on a baseball scholarship. Weiser and his wife, Susan, are the aprents of a daughter, Melanie , and a son, Rudy.
