Kansas University senior swimmer Ashley Leidigh placed 35th in the 200-meter butterfly at 2:19.95 on Tuesday at the U.S. Open Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.
Three Jayhawks to swim in Open Championships
Kansas University seniors Danielle Herrmann and Ashley Leidigh, as well as freshman Abigail Anderson, will compete in the U.S. Open Swimming Championships, which begin Tuesday in Minneapolis.
KU divers headed to nationals
It had been at least six years since a Kansas University athlete competed in the U.S. Senior Diving National Championships. Two divers - sophomore Erin Mertz and junior Meghan Proehl - will put an end to that streak this summer.

Jayhawk twin sisters hold special bond
Brittany Potter tried soccer, softball and dance, then finally settled on swimming. So did her twin sister, Alyssa. The twins have been competing against each other in the pool since they were 8 years old and continue to swim together as upcoming sophomores at Kansas University. They even share an event: the 200-meter butterfly.

They motor in water, on top of cycles and by moving one foot in front of another, but when it comes to growing an event that was a smashing success in its first year in Lawrence, triathletes have been doing their best work motoring their mouths.
