But the Feather the Flock campaign continues, with additional funds going to an endowment to provide stipends to band members, which will help defray membership expenses.

We made it!

The Journal-World's campaign to feather the Marching Jayhawk flock soared past its goal Wednesday.

From Monday to Wednesday, the total, including donations matched by John and Linda Bliss Stewart, jumped $8,505, to $153,285.59.

The goal was $150,000 by March 1, in time to order uniforms for 300 musicians for this fall's football season. Now that the drive has marched past that goal, gifts to Feather the Flock will go into an endowment to provide stipends to band members.
