Gary Bedore's thoughts: Hawkins is an athletic, somewhat undersized guard who hit eight of 39 shots in 29 games a year ago.

Believe it or not ... all but one of Hawkins' baskets were threes. That figures to change in the future. Hawkins is destined to convert lots of layups off the fast break and off of steals.

Most of Jeff's minutes were mop-up minutes his red-shirt freshman season, so he really hasn't had much of a chance to show what he can do. Yes, the verdict is still out on Jeff Hawkins. I think he still can be a contributor here. I know for a fact his teammates are high on him and definitely believe think the KC Sumner product can and will earn minutes as his career progresses. We shall see.
