Gary Bedore's thoughts: Graves, of course, got off to a shaky start at KU, arriving on campus at a whopping 293 pounds. He incurred the wrath of Roy early by reporting in such poor physical condition.

He has a way to go to make a name for himself at KU. He does have talent, however, evidenced by his All America honor attained at Iowa Western CC last season. He posts up well and has a good touch from 12 feet.

He either will be KU's biggest player since Victor Mitchell in the Ted Owens era, or shape up and be a Karl Malone type. We shall see. I have a gut feeling he is going to contribute this season.
