Excluding two people, my team will be a compilation of more recent Jayhawks, simply do to my age and lack of knowledge of the greats from long ago. One of those old timers would be Wilt Chamberlain of course. Not many people I bet would argue that Wilt would hold many KU records if he was here for 4 years.
At forward I would start Manning. He's one of the greats and his play was outstanding.
The other forward position would be a tough call for me. If not starting then definitely off the bench would be Raef LaFrentz. What I am surprised to see though is not one person even mentioned Drew Gooden! His numbers last year were great and he was a player of the year. I couldn't believe he wasn't even on the bench for anyone!
Guards would be tough. JoJo White is my other old timer. Jacque Vaughn without a doubt would be on the team somewhere. Paul Pierce I believe was as smooth a player I have seen at KU in awhile.
Out of those guys i would pick my starters. Other people I would want on the bench would be (not in any order by positions)
Adonis JordanJaraad Haas
Wayne Simien (in 2 years he will prove he should be on this team)
Jeff Boschee (need someone to spread the defense a little!)
Nick Collison
Kirk Hinrich
The head coach would have to be Larry Brown with Roy Williams and Phog Allen as assistants.
