* Jacque Vaughn (1993-1997). (Mayer and Woodling, bench) Woodling: "He was not a great scorer, but you talk about running the team and playing defense, whew."
Vaughn, at 6-1, 195, was one of KU's pre-eminent point guards. He was the all-time KU and Big Eight assist leader, with 804. He was also a two-time first team All-Big Eight selection in 1995 and 1996. He shot .459 from the field and .708 from the free throw line. He was also first-team GTE Academic All-American selection in 1996 and 1997. He was also on the 1997 All-American second team and was the 1996 Big Eight Conference Player of the Year.
