* Darnell Valentine (1978-1981) (Bedore, guard; Mayer, bench.) Darnell Valentine, a 1981 All-American, holds the No. 4 spot on KU's all-time scoring chart with 1,821 points. The 6-2, 183-pound Valentine had a an average of 15.4 points per game. He shot .476 from the field and .718 from the free throw line Valentine was also a member of the 1980 Olympic Team, and was named to the All-Big Eight team in 1978, 1979, 1980 and 1981 - the first player ever to receive that honor. Valentine could pick his opponents' pockets with ease, holding the KU record for steals in one season (92 in 1981) and career steals (334). He also ranks third in KU's record book for assists. He was named Kansas MVP in each of his four seasons at KU. He currently works for the NBA Players Assn.
